HOW TO FILE/REPORT MISTREATMENT AT WORK
CRLA recommended guidelines for reporting employee mistreatment in the workplace. The first action recommended is that you tell the person who is mistreating you to stop – if you feel comfortable doing this. If you are not comfortable, or if the person does not stop, follow these steps.
See CRLA’s Non-Discrimination & Anti-Harassment Policy and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), article 10. You can also check with an HR representative or any supervisor at your workplace.
File a mistreatment/harassment complaint. CRLA’s policies listed above protect you from punishment, such as getting fired (also called retaliation). You have the right to oppose unwanted behavior, report workplace harassment, and participate in investigations.
THE PROCESS:
The HR department will review and follow up with you in a timely manner (48 hrs).
The HR department will conduct an investigation with individuals involved.
Upon the findings HR will follow up with you about the outcomes/closure of investigations (7-10 business days).
